The Building

Twenty-nine homes, two buildings, one community

Harbor Lights West was built in 1988 as a pair of residential buildings set above a shared parking level, tucked into the hillside where Fremont climbs toward Phinney Ridge.

The two addresses — 4421 and 4425 Greenwood Ave N — sit side by side on a landscaped, gently terraced lot. Homes range from one-bedroom flats to two-bedroom layouts, most with a private balcony or deck, and the buildings share an elevator, secured entry, and covered parking.

The exterior envelope, including siding, windows, patio doors, and deck railings, was fully replaced in a 2010–2011 project. The community is governed by an owner-elected volunteer board of directors and managed day to day by a professional property management company.

The Neighborhood

Fremont, from the front door

Harbor Lights West sits on the quiet western edge of Fremont — residential enough to be calm, close enough to walk to nearly everything.

Fremont Peak Park: a concrete overlook plaza with stone spheres, a bench, and a panoramic view toward the Olympic Mountains.

Fremont Peak Park

A small hilltop park about four blocks up the ridge, with a sculpted overlook facing northwest over Salmon Bay toward the Olympics. Best at sunset. Woodland Park and the Zoo are a comparable walk in the other direction, and the Burke-Gilman Trail runs along the Ship Canal below.

Coffee & everyday errands

Fremont's coffee culture starts a few blocks downhill — Milstead, Lighthouse Roasters up on Phinney, Caffé Ladro, and the long-running Fremont Coffee Company in the old house on N 34th. Add a PCC and a QFC within walking distance, the Sunday Fremont Market, and the restaurants and breweries along N 36th and Leary Way.
